This policy explains how MP3 Trimmer uses cookies and similar browser storage at mp3trimmer.net. For information about other website data and your privacy rights, read our Privacy Policy.
1. Cookies and browser storage
A cookie is a small value saved by your browser and sent back to the website with matching requests. Local storage keeps a value on your device until it is cleared. Session storage keeps values for a browser tab session. These technologies can remember preferences, maintain an account session or help measure visits.
Cookies and storage used by this website do not contain your audio recording or exported clip. The editor processes audio in browser memory and does not upload it or save an online editing project.
2. Storage used by this website
The items below describe the site's own attribution, account and preference storage. Account items apply when you use an account feature; no account is needed for audio editing.
aid
First-party attribution cookie
Stores a random browser identifier used to associate referral and campaign information with visits. It can be linked to an account if you sign in. It is used for measurement, not for editing audio.
Lifetime: Up to 365 days after it is set. Deleting it while allowing cookies means a new identifier can be set on your next visit.
auth-token / mp3_trimmer.session-token
First-party account session cookies
Authenticate an account when you use a sign-in feature. These cookies are not required to trim or export audio.
Lifetime: Up to 7 days for an authenticated session; a renewed session can extend the lifetime.
Authentication security cookies
First-party security cookies
The sign-in system can set additional cookies to protect authentication requests and remember a return address. Exact names can vary by the authentication flow and HTTPS settings.
Lifetime: Varies by cookie and sign-in flow; some last only for the browser session.
mp3_trimmer-theme
Local storage preference
Remembers the website theme. This value stays in browser storage and is not automatically sent with every request like a cookie.
Lifetime: No automatic expiry; remains until removed or cleared by your browser.
mp3_trimmer:login-return-url
Session storage preference
Remembers the page to return to when you use a sign-in link. It is only relevant to account navigation.
Lifetime: For the browser tab session, until cleared by the browser.
The attribution identifier is a measurement cookie, not an essential part of trimming audio. Clearing it removes the identifier from your browser; it does not automatically erase attribution records already stored by the website.
3. What visit attribution records
The first-party attribution system uses the aid identifier with a landing page path, referring website origin, visit time and campaign parameters in a link, such as UTM source, medium and campaign. It helps us understand which links and referral sources bring visitors to MP3 Trimmer.
It does not transmit the audio you select, its filename, the cut points or the exported clip. A random identifier is pseudonymous; it may be associated with an account when you sign in.
4. Managing cookies and storage
You can use your browser's privacy or site settings to inspect, delete or block cookies for mp3trimmer.net and clear its local and session storage. Most browsers also let you clear site data when you close the browser. Browser settings differ, so consult your browser's help for the exact steps.
Deleting a cookie once does not stop it from being set again on a later visit. To prevent that, keep the relevant cookie blocking setting enabled. Blocking account cookies may prevent sign-in or sign you out, and clearing preference storage may reset the website theme. Audio trimming and export do not require the attribution or account cookies.
For a request concerning records already held by the website, email [email protected]. Browser controls act on your device and are separate from a request to delete server-side records.
5. Changes and questions
We will update this policy and the date above if the cookies or storage used by the service change. If you have questions about an item stored by mp3trimmer.net, contact [email protected].
